    "description": "Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority are seeking to award a Contract for the provision of a Health Benefit. This will be a Healthcare Subscription Contract commencing in April 2026.This is a new provision, and employees subscriptions will initially be fully funded by the Authority. Should employees wish to add dependents to any potential scheme the employee will be responsible for additional costs. \nThe broad aims of provision of the additional health benefit are to:\n\u2022 Give staff an easy and quick access to primary health care, diagnostics and treatment.\n\u2022 Provide additional level of mental health support and reassurance for all staff.\n\u2022 Reduce sickness absence costs, increase focus and productivity of employees.\n\u2022 Improve staff retention, attract and retain talents.\n\u2022 Improve the culture and make staff feel valued and supported in the workplace. \n\u2022 Give staff further access to free webinars and/or wellbeing-related toolkits.\n\u2022 Provide quality assured information and advice about health and wellbeing.\n\u2022 Make a positive impact on employee\u2019s stress levels, wellbeing and overall standard of living. \n\u2022 Maximise the health, well-being and efficiency of its members.\n\u2022 Increase employee engagement and satisfaction.\nWhile the successful provider may offer cash plans as an optional enhancement for employees to supplement, the core contract will not be based on a cash plan model or a private medical insurer. The additional healthcare benefit has received approved funding for an initial 2 year period, and therefore the initial duration will be for 2 years, with the potential to extend for a further 6 years at 24 month intervals. ",
