    "procurementMethodRationale": "The Air Defence \u0026 Windfarm Mitigation Systems (ADWiMS) Defence Team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), intends to Award a contract to Thales UK Ltd to procure the Provision of Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) of the Falkland Island Telebrief Systems at Mount Pleasant Complex (MPC), Falkland Islands (FI) and United Kingdom (UK).\nThe UK Telebrief System is the only formal method of rapidly launching fighter aircraft throughout the RAF. The system is ready to launch fighter aircraft at very short notice for the purpose of defending the airspace around the UK and FI, or in response to an aviation security incident. The UK Telebrief System carries voice communications between the Control and Reporting Centres (CRCs) located at RAF Boulmer / NATS Swanwick and the applicable Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) bases\nIt is considered that this contract can be awarded using the direct award criteria under the Procurement Act 2023 (Act) paragraph 27 of schedule 2 and paragraph 6 of Schedule 5.\nIt is the Authority\u2019s intention to direct award to Thales UK Ltd for an additional two years due to a delay in procuring the replacement system. This contract is to ensure that the current service is maintained until the new service is implemented.",
