    "description": "Scottish Water is planning an accelerated, nationwide rollout of AMI smart metering for our \u003cbr/\u003enon-household customers from 2026-2032, subject to final business case approval. This \u003cbr/\u003einitiative follows a successful pilot with approximately 3,000 business customers in Inverness \u003cbr/\u003eand Orkney.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eThe primary driver is to achieve a sustainable demand reduction of 80 million litres per day \u003cbr/\u003e(80MLd) through a combination of customer and network side interventions.\u003cbr/\u003eThis programme will involve full replacement of the existing mechanical meter estate. It is \u003cbr/\u003eplanned that Implementation will be prioritised based on water deficit areas to maximise impact, \u003cbr/\u003ewith installations beginning early 2026.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eThis framework will support the nationwide rollout of AMI smart metering for our non-household \u003cbr/\u003ecustomers, the scope of which includes:\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022 Smart water meters for non-household customers\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022 Supporting Headend systems \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022 Communication networks\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022 Overall service management and front-line support\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eScottish Water will also require a Meter Data Management System (MDMS), which will be \u003cbr/\u003eprocured separately, but must integrate with the solution provided through this procurement.\u003cbr/\u003eInstallation services are not included in the scope of this procurement.\u003cbr/\u003eIt is expected that the successful Bidder will supply smart water meters, headend system/s and \u003cbr/\u003ecommunication networks to fulfil the requirements of the rollout. Given Scotland\u2019s diverse \u003cbr/\u003egeography and challenging conditions, it is anticipated that a mixed network provision will be \u003cbr/\u003erequired to achieve maximum connectivity. Bidders will likely need to form a consortium of \u003cbr/\u003epartners through subcontracting arrangements to deliver the full spectrum of solutions, but we \u003cbr/\u003ewill require a lead bidder.",
