The improvement of this public space will provide a new aesthetic for the city centre through its retail core, creating attractive spaces for residents, businesses and visitors. \n\u2022\tTo improve pedestrian and cyclist connectivity through the core of the city. This will provide safer and attractive connections to and from New Street Train Station to business and retail areas within the city. \n\u2022\tTo provide a safer pedestrianised streetscape within the city centre, while also improving the overall air quality by restricting vehicles within the area of New Street.",
