    "description": "Poynton Town Council is offering opportunities for suitably qualified companies to apply to become be the council\u0027s Approved Contractor for street lighting for an initial period of 3 years.\r\n\r\nPoynton Town Council currently has a mixture of street lighting types. We own 87 streetlights; that require reactive repair and ongoing maintenance. We are looking to replace nine streetlights in the short term. The council has a desire to install solar powered lights, where the location supports such a move.\r\n\r\nAs Poynton Town Council\u0027s Approved Contractor for streetlighting, you will be required to carry out the following:\r\n\r\n\u2022\tThe replacement of nine streetlights\r\n\u2022\tReactive maintenance on faulty streetlights \r\n\u2022\tOther electrical works including electrical supply to defibrillators\r\n\u2022\tInstallation of Christmas Light banners\r\n\u2022\tInstallation of lights on Town Christmas Tree\r\n\u2022\tCondition inspections\r\n\r\nSpecification\r\nThe streetlights approved contractor information sheet (appendix B) should be completed providing as much detail as possible including:\r\n\r\n\u2022\tDetails of services, personnel and resources\r\n\u2022\tIndicative costs, including hourly rates, call out charges or any other additional charges for planned and emergency work\r\n\u2022\tAny response times or other benefits of your service offer\r\n\u2022\tYour experience of streetlight work\r\n\u2022\tAll relevant insurances and licenses\r\n\u2022\tRelevant qualifications and memberships of professional organisations\r\n\u2022\tAny British Standards to which you work\r\n\u2022\tAny relevant risk management including in relation to electrical safety, working at heights, use of power tools, traffic management\r\n\u2022\tAny environmental and sustainability credentials. \r\n\r\nPeriod\r\nThis opportunity relates to contracts being offered from 7th July 2025 for a period of three years.\r\n\r\nRestrictions\r\nThis work is limited to Poynton Town Council streetlights only.\r\n\r\nConditions\r\n Any conditions should be stated including any relating to:\r\n\u2022\tAny insurance requirements on Poynton Town Council  \r\n\u2022\tAny requirements for Poynton Town Council to provide additional data\r\n\r\nContractor variations and termination \r\nPlease state how you would deal with any changes in your service. Include any known costs and notice periods.\r\n\r\nCompliance\r\n\u2022\tStaff employed on this contract must be formally accredited with G39 Category 1 qualifications. \r\n\u2022\tYour company must be NICIEC accredited or equivalent (please provide evidence of such accreditation including levels of accreditation with your quote). \r\n\r\nAll contractors will be assessed for Poynton Town Council\u0027s Approved Contractors List prior to commencement.
