    "description": "Derbyshire County Council is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to undertake comprehensive roofing, structural, and building envelope refurbishment works at Whitfield St James CEVC Primary School, Glossop, Derbyshire. The project places particular emphasis on the integrity and performance of the roof and supporting structural elements, alongside improvements to windows and doors. The scope of works includes:\n\u2022 Removal and replacement of pitched roof coverings, including structural repairs to roof timbers, rafters, and associated \ncomponents where deterioration has occurred.\n\u2022 Renewal of flat roof systems, incorporating upgraded insulation and waterproofing layers to meet modern thermal and environmental standards.\n\u2022 Replacement of rainwater goods, including gutters, downpipes, and fittings to ensure effective drainage and protection of the building fabric.\n\u2022 Replacement of structural lintels, beams, and other load-bearing elements, particularly where deterioration or non-compliance has been identified, to restore and maintain the building\u0027s structural integrity.\n\u2022 Removal of existing timber-framed windows and external doors, and installation of new aluminium systems to improve thermal performance, durability, and visual consistency with the refurbished envelope. \n\u2022 The contractor will be responsible for all associated works including safe access provision, waste removal, making good of affected areas, and ensuring full compliance with relevant health and safety, environmental, and building regulations.\nThe Council is inviting tenders from contractors with prior demonstrable experience of projects working in an Education environment.\nSite visits are available upon request, please use the messaging function within the e-tendering portal to obtain further information.",
