Description
The GMC employs some 1400 staff, the majority working out of offices in Manchester and London, with small teams based in our premises in Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh. There are around 90 staff who are home based and visit external organisations and venues. Our existing security systems and process are designed to ensure the physical safety of staff and visitors and to ensure that the organisation complies with the data protections and information security standards resulting from out ISO27001 registration. Each of our buildings are protected by intruder alarms. The three GMC sites in Manchester and one in London are locked up each night at a set time and unlocked again each morning with intruder alarms also being set. The intruder alarms are monitored by the Red Care system and the successful provider for this contract will be the first point of contact if the alarm is activated. There is significant emphasis on the physical protection of staff and visitors at all GMC locations and for staff based at home visiting external locations as a lone worker.
