NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU (AGCSU) is acting as an agent for and on behalf of NICB and is supporting this Provider Selection Regime Competitive Process.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Service will provide access to unplanned urgent care; working in partnership with the wider urgent care system across primary, community, secondary health and social care. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Service must:\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tBe clinically safe\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tProvide value for money\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tBe sustainable \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tMake the best use of and develop the skills of the workforce\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tDevelop local clinical engagement\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tReduce unnecessary attendances to acute providers of emergency care\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tWork collaboratively with partner organisations\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tNot increase pressure on the ambulance service \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tBe innovative \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tNot increase pressure on in-hours GP services\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tSeek to align protocols where appropriate to do so.\u003cbr/\u003eThe contract will also include support for Protected Learning Time (PLT). The ICB permits GP Practices to close for up to 10 afternoons per calendar year to facilitate Protected Learning Time (PLT), allowing practice staff to participate in specialist, clinical, and/or mandatory training. The Provider will be responsible for ensuring that an effective service is maintained between the hours of 12:00 and 18:30 on designated PLT afternoons.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eThe contract will be for a period of 5 years and 6 months with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years, commencing 1st October 2026.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eThe maximum annual contract value is \u00a36.732 million per annum ex VAT.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003ePlease note there is a financial threshold associated with this procurement.
