Description

Wilson's School (WS) is a standalone selective academy for boys in the London Borough of Sutton and converted to this status in 2011. There are 1,300 students on roll of which 360 are in the Sixth Form. The school's website is https://www.wilsons.school/ Places at WS are highly sought after and examination results achieved by its pupils are routinely amongst the highest of any school in the country. WS was founded by Edward Wilson in 1615. The school is proud of its long history and the strong reputation for quality and excellence which current leaders and their predecessors have worked hard to build. Senior leaders are focussed on maintaining and enhancing this reputation and this is an important factor when recruiting partners. WS is deeply proud of what it offers, particularly the hugely enriching experiences pupils enjoy beyond the classroom. Indeed, these rival (and often exceed) those of fee-paying schools. Teachers engage pupils with challenging and enjoyable lessons, enriched with great activities to extend pupils' interests and skills far beyond the National Curriculum and examination specifications. Teachers know the pupils very well and visitors often comment on the warmth and good humour that characterise relationships between boys and members of staff. The aims of Wilson's School are: to ensure a safe and kind environment for learning, building pupils' confidence and actively promoting their wellbeing to enable all pupils to reach the highest levels of academic enjoyment and achievement to enable our pupils to think independently and to feel secure in taking intellectual risks to give all of our pupils every opportunity to engage with the spiritual, social, moral and cultural dimensions of life to provide every pupil with opportunities for achievement and enjoyment beyond the classroom to provide our pupils with the skills and attitudes needed to thrive in Higher Education and proceed to satisfying careers and fulfilling lives WS is nationally renowned and its leaders are involved in work which supports the education system as a whole at local and national level. In 2024, WS was named as The Sunday Times Secondary School of the Year, beating off competition from the state and independent sectors. Our contractors are partners in maintaining and enhancing our reputation and are proud to work with us. Wilson's is currently supported by an external organisation which provides onsite and remote support on the basis of a fixed term contract. This will finish at the end of March 2026. The school was recently awarded Cyber Essential Plus accreditation. The ICT Support at the School is currently provided by a single outsourced support provider which provides a mix of onsite and remote support. The School is taking the opportunity to go to the market to identify the best innovative and forward-looking partner to support them in the delivery and development of their ICT provision over the next five years. This procurement includes (but may not be limited to) the items listed below: A core managed service, management of all ICT against an agreed SLA A Service Desk, available 52 weeks a year including out of hours access and emergency support Local staffing which suppliers deem necessary to deliver the service and meet the SLA requirements Strategic advice and direction to the School's leaders regarding ICT policy, procedures and best practice Responsibility for design, specification, installation, and management of all ICT infrastructure Supply of goods and services based on an agreed Best Value approach Management of 3rd parties where relevant to the ICT support Relevant monitoring, management, patching Regular performance reporting Access to the highest quality digital training materials to support in-house delivery Advice on the impact of policy updates on the ICT solution and support There is an expectation that the provider will support and/or drive innovation, particularly around AI and environmental sustainability.
