In Greater Manchester there are an estimated 120,000 people experiencing Multiple Disadvantage. This is defined as a combination of homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse and contact with the criminal justice system. Since 2021 GMCA have been working with localities to deliver a specific support programme for people experiencing multiple disadvantage, which doesn't work in silos. In order to facilitate learning and development of this programme, the GMCA have commissioned a consultant to support areas to develop their local program. In order to facilitate learning and development of this programme, the provider will be delivering 50 days of support. This support will include a mixture of support, mostly as 1:1 for individual areas (through a named lead) and with a small amount of group support. The provider will be guided by areas' ambitions and support needs based on their local priorities for work, it may take the form of advice/informal coaching, supporting with evidence gathering or policy synthesis, facilitating workshops or similar. The group support will involve areas coming together once at the beginning and once at the end of the support to share learning experiences with each other in a structured way.
