Description

London Underground Limited (LUL), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Transport for London (TfL), the statutory corporation responsible for the transport network in London. London Underground Limited (LUL) engineering and maintenance is managed by Transport for London (TfL), the public body running the Tube, with the LUL Asset Performance Directorate overseeing the actual upkeep, renewal, and modernisation of its vast, historic infrastructure (tracks, signals, stations ) using in-house teams and external specialist contractors. The Directorate utilise the services of well-established reputable Haulage companies to provide strictly heavy road haulage services for the collection and delivery of various Engineering Vehicles (EV) assets to Ruislip and other internal LUL sites to and from various suppliers' facilities or around the LUL network. Railway carriages, wagons and engineering vehicles ('EV') are the principal part of London Underground ('LU') services assets. These assets will sometimes need transporting by road for operational purposes or maintenance such as overhauling. The types of engineering vehicles "Assets" that may require transporting comprise of the following: · Battery Locomotives · Tampers Matisa & Plasser · 7.5ton Rail Cranes · Kirow 250 Cranes · Kirow Tilt Wagons · Passenger stock · Various Rail Mounted Cranes · Rail Wagons (long wagons) · High Deck Wagons (long wagons) · Cement Mixer Wagons · Match Wagons · JLE General Purpose Wagons · Bogie Well Wagons · General Purpose Wagons · Hopper Wagons · Palletised goods · Wheelsets · Wagon Bogies & wagon bodies The Supplier ("Haulier") should recognise it would be engaged in an Agreement as the heavy haulage Haulier to provide safe transportation services covering the delivery and collection of vehicles and materials to meet the requirements. This proposed tender which is in compliance with the Public Procurement Act 2023 Part 3, Chapter 2, section 20, is intended to secure a haulier for the road transportation of very heavy and oversized EV assets requiring road transportation. Bidders wishing to take part in the process and submit a response should contact Kennethnwaelene@tfl.gov.uk and ensure they are registered on the SAP Ariba e-tendering platform. Registration is required to receive an invitation to the procurement event and access to the ITT (Invitation to Tender) documentation. Bidders are required to Express Interest to participate by Wednesday 16th January 2026 at 12PM GMT.
