    "description": "London Underground Limited (LUL), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Transport for London (TfL), the statutory corporation responsible for the transport network in London.\nLondon Underground Limited (LUL) engineering and maintenance is managed by Transport for London (TfL), the public body running the Tube, with the LUL Asset Performance Directorate overseeing the actual upkeep, renewal, and modernisation of its vast, historic infrastructure (tracks, signals, stations ) using in-house teams and external specialist contractors.\nThe Directorate utilise the services of well-established reputable Haulage companies to provide strictly heavy road haulage services for the collection and delivery of various Engineering Vehicles (EV) assets to Ruislip and other internal LUL sites to and from various suppliers\u0027 facilities or around the LUL network.\nRailway carriages, wagons and engineering vehicles (\u0027EV\u0027) are the principal part of London Underground (\u0027LU\u0027) services assets. These assets will sometimes need transporting by road for operational purposes or maintenance such as overhauling.\nThe types of engineering vehicles \"Assets\" that may require transporting comprise of the following:\n\u00b7 Battery Locomotives\n\u00b7 Tampers Matisa \u0026 Plasser\n\u00b7 7.5ton Rail Cranes\n\u00b7 Kirow 250 Cranes\n\u00b7 Kirow Tilt Wagons\n\u00b7 Passenger stock\n\u00b7 Various Rail Mounted Cranes\n\u00b7 Rail Wagons (long wagons)\n\u00b7 High Deck Wagons (long wagons)\n\u00b7 Cement Mixer Wagons\n\u00b7 Match Wagons\n\u00b7 JLE General Purpose Wagons\n\u00b7 Bogie Well Wagons\n\u00b7 General Purpose Wagons\n\u00b7 Hopper Wagons\n\u00b7 Palletised goods\n\u00b7 Wheelsets\n\u00b7 Wagon Bogies \u0026 wagon bodies\nThe Supplier (\"Haulier\") should recognise it would be engaged in an Agreement as the heavy haulage Haulier to provide safe transportation services covering the delivery and collection of vehicles and materials to meet the requirements.\nThis proposed tender which is in compliance with the Public Procurement Act 2023 Part 3, Chapter 2, section 20, is intended to secure a haulier for the road transportation of very heavy and oversized EV assets requiring road transportation.\nBidders wishing to take part in the process and submit a response should contact\nKennethnwaelene@tfl.gov.uk and ensure they are registered on the SAP Ariba e-tendering\nplatform.\nRegistration is required to receive an invitation to the procurement event and access to\nthe ITT (Invitation to Tender) documentation.\nBidders are required to Express Interest to participate by Wednesday 16th January 2026\nat 12PM GMT.",
