        "description": "The Tendring District includes the tourist towns of Clacton, Frinton, Walton, Brightlingsea, Harwich and Manningtree. The district\u0027s main areas of population being seaside with the Centre of the district being rural. Residential property numbers for Tendring District of approximately 75,210 as of July 2024 with the Councils current local plan target of 550 new build properties per year and for 2022/23 had a recycling rate of 38.60%.\nWith the seafront areas within Tendring attracting tourists and visitors there are very wide seasonal variations in the level of use of the seafront and Town Centre areas by members of the public and in the amount of litter and waste generated. Additionally, every year a number of major public events on parts of the contract area take place which all generate the need for cleaning during and immediately after the event.\nThe successful bidder (the \"Contractor\") will provide the following services in the delivery of the Contract (the procurement documents provide further information about these elements of the services):\nWaste Collection and Recycling Services:\n\u2022 Household residual waste collection\n\u2022 Household dry recycling collection\n\u2022 Household food waste collection\n\u2022 Household garden waste collection\n\u2022 Household Bulky waste collection\n\u2022 Commercial Waste and recycling service\n\u2022 Assisted Collections\n\u2022 Dry Mixed Recycling treatment / Materials management\nStreet cleansing service:\n\u2022 Mechanical and manual cleansing\n\u2022 Litter bin service.\n\u2022 Subways, footbridges and bridges.\n\u2022 Car park cleansing\n\u2022 Removal of fly-tipped materials and abandoned waste\n\u2022 Dead animals clearance\n\u2022 Seasonal leaf fall management.\n\u2022 Special events cleansing, summer season and night time economy\n\u2022 High speed road cleansing\n\u2022 Dog fouling removal\n\u2022 Seafront and beach area cleansing\nOther Services:\n\u2022 Provision caged vehicle and resources\nThe Council owned depot, which is currently utilised by the incumbent contractor for the waste, recycling and street cleansing services will also be offered for use as part of this contract provision.",
