    "description": "Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (the \"Authority\") has awarded a Contract for the provision of a fully inclusive Grounds and Gardens Maintenance Service across the Authority\u0027s sites. \r\n\r\nThe Supplier will ensure that all sites are maintained to a high standard for the Authority\u0027s patients, visitors and staff to reflect the requirements of the client, the care quality commission (CQC) and NHS Patient lead assessments of the care environment (PLACE).\r\n\r\nThe Contract commenced on 16th January 2025 for a period of five (5) years. The term may be extended, provided that the duration of the Contract shall be no longer than seven (7) years in total.\r\n\r\nThe Authority has procured this Contract following the Open Procedure under the UK Public Contract Regulations 2015 and the Authority\u0027s Standing Financial Instructions. The Authority has awarded one Contract for the provision of all services detailed within the Contract specification.\r\n\r\nThe Authority is a large Mental Health NHS Trust, providing a full range of adult mental health and learning disability services to our local population of 1.8 million people across Kent and Medway, as well as specialist services for adults in Sussex and Surrey. The Authority\u0027s services are predominantly provided around key urban centres including Maidstone, Medway and Canterbury. A range of services are also provided in community locations, reflecting the urban and rural mix of the area. Each year, the Authority cares for over 2,000 people in our hospitals and 54,000 people in the community.\r\n\r\nThe Authority will work collaboratively with the Supplier of the Grounds and Gardens Maintenance Service to achieve its ambitions of making a \u0027cared for environment\u0027 and help the Authority to meet user expectations. The Supplier will be expected to deliver improvements to service delivery and value for money over the life of the Contract.\r\n\r\nCore tasks will include, but not be limited to,\r\n\r\n\u2022 Grass cutting;\r\n\u2022 Shrub/herbaceous bed maintenance;\r\n\u2022 Hedge maintenance;\r\n\u2022 Cleaning of grounds, pathways free of moss; and\r\n\u2022 Court yard works (TBD).\r\n\r\nPeriodic tasks will include, but not be limited to:\r\n\r\n\u2022 Grass edging;\r\n\u2022 Tree surveys and tree works resulting from surveys;\r\n\u2022 Young tree maintenance; and\r\n\u2022 Replacement of shrubs and plants.\r\n\r\nAdditional information: \r\nThe values stated in this notice represent the Authority\u0027s estimate of the total contract value over its entire term, including any possible extension(s), at the time of contract award.\r\n\r\nThe Contract includes a mechanism for the Supplier to apply for an uplift to the fixed Contract charges annually, based on the Consumer Price Index. The values stated in this notice are exclusive of any potential future uplifts to the Contract charges permitted in accordance with the Contract terms and conditions.\r\n\r\nThe Authority does not guarantee any value associated with this notice, and charges for services provided by the Supplier shall be strictly in accordance with the signed Contract.",
