    "description": "Utilising the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) RM6088 - Construction Works and Associated Services  Framework - Lot 10:\r\nDemolition - National Lot across all UK regions. \r\n\r\nThe Authority required a contractor to undertake the demolition of Crompton Place Shopping Centre (the \"Works\").\r\n\r\nThe Works involves the demolition of the existing buildings/structures on the site and associated works to create a clear site which removes the barriers for a future redevelopment scheme, including:\r\n\r\n\u2022\tRemoval of canopies (to be demolished first within the programme).\r\n\u2022\tRemoval of link bridges/structures from the site, and associated making good to the former M\u0026S Building, 33- 35 Victoria Square and 56-58 Bradshawgate.\r\n\u2022\tRetention of the former Bolton Evening News building facade on Mealhouse Lane and associated temporary works.\r\n\u2022\tGrubbing out of the basement slab and foundations to infill the existing car park and provide a level, compacted surface across the site.\r\n\u2022\tRemoval of Asbestos Containing Materials.\r\n\u2022\tErection of a new stairway on the HSBC facade.\r\n\u2022\tCreation of a new pedestrian link from Victoria Square through to Bradshawgate.",
