Description

User Led Organisations are involved in a wide range of activities, but their primary purpose is to ensure that people who use services and their carers have a voice regarding the services they use under The Care Act 2015. The organisation should be driven by the initiative, demand and lived experience of the people that use it. \r The Authority is seeking to develop a partnership with a provider that: \r Has experience of providing a range of provision with a deep understanding of the needs of adults with social care needs which includes older people (including those with dementia), people with learning disabilities and/or autism, (including those with high and complex needs), people with physical disabilities, people with mental health problems. This will include access to significant expertise, and knowledge of evidence informed best practice.\r Is a reputable, responsive, and responsible employer committed to recruiting and training staff and (where appropriate) service users.\r Can provide services at locations around the island including with hard-to-reach groups.\r Is financially sustainable with robust governance and assurance arrangements\r Works jointly with other organisations and partners.\r \r The User Led Organisation will treat all individuals with dignity and respect and will identify the individual needs and strengths of the people it supports. The organisation will provide a level of support which is appropriate to the needs of the individual and ensure that service users are empowered to increase their confidence and independence. The organisation must also be able to demonstrate that people are effectively supported to play a full and active role in key decision-making. The organisation will\r a) Support service users holistic wellbeing through enabling behaviour change and supporting engagement with other services.\r b) Support service users to access appropriate services, acting as an advocate for those who have problems around access and inclusion.\r c ) Support service users to access community resources and personal development opportunities.\r d) Support service users to make the best use of local resources and amenities to meet their health and welfare needs.\r \r The contract value is an estimated value that represents the total possible for the 3 years and optional 2 year extension. The value of funding available is £50,000 per annum.
