    "description": "Cabinet Office\u0027s Public Bodies Review Programme recently undertook a review of DVLA to assess:\r\n\r\n-\tthe effectiveness of DVLA\u0027s functions and structures\r\n-\tits performance and governance\r\n-\tits accountability to customers, the department and Parliament\r\n-\tits capacity to deliver more efficiently, including identifying efficiency savings\r\n\r\nFollowing the review a report was published on 7 November 2024. Within, there was a recommendation for the DVLA Board to sponsor a targeted audit of the efficiency and efficacy of the existing Drivers Medical department (DM) processes to identify any potential for immediate customer-focused improvements. Once the audit is complete the findings are to be reported back to DVLA Executive and Non-Executive Boards in the form of a written report.\r\n\r\nThe objective of the review is to ensure the existing DM process is as efficient as possible and to improve the customer experience.",
