    "description": "The Authority, in its capacity as a Unitary Authority, is responsible for the collection and disposal of green garden waste arisings from Luton Town.  Waste arisings total c.5000 tonnes per annum mainly from kerbside collection services as well as from parks and grounds maintenance delivered by Authority.  The Authority collects garden waste from residents at the kerbside through an opt-in subscription based collection service.  There are approximately 22,000 households enrolled in the service, which has an annual participation rate of 28.6%.\r\nThe Authority wishes to procure a garden waste management contract that comprises the following core Contract Service:\r\nThe receipt, acceptance, treatment, recovery and/or disposal of Luton\u0027s green waste, which comprises of kerbside collected household green garden waste, as well as green waste arisings from parks and grounds maintenance, resulting from Authority collections. \r\nFurther information can be found in the tender documents and are available on the ProContract e-tendering portal.\r\n",
