    "description": "The A38/A4019 junction improvements works are located at the junction of the A38 with the A4019 west of M5 Junction 10 at Coombe Hill.\r\n\r\nThis scheme is part of the M5 Junction 10 Portfolio which Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) obtained Housing Infrastructure funds for from Homes England. The Scheme comprises improvements to the existing junction of the A38 and A4019 at Coombe Hill, consisting of the replacement of the existing left turn lane from the A38 onto the A4019 with a longer signal controlled left turn lane, and improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.\r\n\r\nGCC are looking for a Principal Contractor to deliver the construction phase of this scheme.\r\n\r\nSummary of Construction Phase key deliverables are as follows:\r\nthe diversion of existing utilities affected by the Scheme;\r\nwidening the existing carriageway to accommodate longer turning lanes;\r\nconstructing new traffic islands;\r\nwidening the existing footways to provide unsegregated shared use path for pedestrians/cyclists and constructing a new segregated footway/cycleway;\r\ninstalling new traffic signals (including controller) and vehicle/non-motorised user traffic counter sensors;\r\ninstalling new lighting columns;\r\noverlaying the existing carriageways and resurfacing the existing footways;\r\ninstalling new road markings and traffic signs;\r\nconstruction of an attenuation basin to the south of the A4019 within an agricultural field.
