    "description": "VOLUNTARY TRANSPARENCY NOTICE (VTN) TO PLACE A SINGLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR THE MULTI DOMAIN MISSION SUPPORT SYSTEM (MD MSS).\r\n \r\nSense Decide \u0026 Communicate (SDC DT), part of the Ministry of Defence (\"the Authority\"), intends to place a two-year extension with Thales UK Ltd for the Multi-Domain Mission Support System (MD MSS) (\"the Contract\"), which includes, technical engineering support, training, repairs, Contractor Logistic Support, through-life management and continued provision of Defence and Aeronautical information; which feeds to front line Squadrons and other MoD Organisations in a robust and security accredited Information Management System (IMS).\r\n\r\nThales UK Ltd are the were responsible for the original development and maintenance of this system which is installed in support of multiple platforms.\r\n\r\nThe Authority has determined this Single Source Contract is excluded from Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 under Regulation 7(1)(a) in conjunction with Article 346 (1)(a). Thales UK Ltd are the only supplier with the necessary technical knowledge and experience to provide the required maintenance and technical support to the MD MSS.",
