    "description": "Department for Transport (DfT), hereafter referred to as DfT, seeks to appoint a contractor to support the assessment of Lane Rental Scheme applications submitted by Highway Authorities. A surge of up to 20 applications is expected in October 2025, following updated guidance issued in April 2025. \r\nThe contractor will assist in implementing a lighter-touch review process, ensure consistency in applying the 10% network coverage threshold by road length, and help manage the increased workload within existing departmental resource constraints. We may accept schemes with higher than 10% if they provide sufficient evidence.\r\nThe DfT aims to develop and deliver a transport network that works for everyone.
