Description

The primary aim of this contract is to provide the Welsh Government with a comprehensive, cross-sectoral understanding of the current and future workforce and skills landscape within the culture sector in Wales. The commissioned research will identify and address gaps in existing data and studies, building an overarching, up-to-date view of the sector’s workforce. This evidence base will support strategic planning, policy development, and investment decisions, helping to shape a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cultural workforce. The review will cover paid staff, freelancers, and volunteers across libraries, archives, conservation, museums (National and non-national museums) and the historic environment sector. For the purposes of this contract, the historic environment sector. In relation to the arts, it is important to note that Creative Industries (film and television, animation, gaming, publishing and developing grass roots music) are outside the scope of this contract, but the bidder should be mindful of the intersection with the arts workforce. This procurement was run as a mini competition under the CCS Research and Insights DPS (RM6126).
