Replacing the platform would require several separate contracts to replicate the functionality.
- ArcGIS technology is embedded in numerous key operational processes and replacing these would cause significant disruption. GIS services are identified as critical in the Council’s Business Continuity Plan and any change would require significant risk management to ensure key capabilities are not disrupted.
- Esri products have been customised and developed over a significant period to meet operational needs and this development work would have to be repeated in any new platform. It would also not be possible to reproduce the level of integration and efficiency we can achieve with ArcGIS.
- Not only does the platform have customisations at the organisational level but it can and has been developed to meet the needs of multiple specific groups of users.
- Several ongoing transformation projects have Esri products as key components – replacing these products with other solutions would cause significant delay and restructuring of these projects.",
